Welcome to the June edition of our monthly product updates! June is one of my personal favorite months because with it comes summer, the longest day of the year (hello sunshine!), and a plethora of reasons to celebrate. It’s the National Month for Roses, Dairy (cheese, please), African-American Music, Iced Tea (a Texas favorite!), and Candy! One top of that, June also takes a day to individually celebrate the US Flag, Dads, Juneteenth and Paul Bunyan (who knew?).
But first, let’s reflect on May. May was mainly focused on bug fixes, performance improvements and user interface changes that resulted in over 100 updates and a couple new features! That’s an incredible feat for our small team. We’re very lucky to have such amazing humans working at Cratejoy and incredible sellers who tell us about bugs they notice and ideas for improvement – thank you!
Here’s what we rolled out last month.
New Report! Revenue by Coupon
You can now analyze the success of your coupons easier than ever with the new Revenue by Coupon report! This report (found under Analytics > General) shows revenue by coupon code, the number of transactions/coupons, total discounted, gross revenue and total revenue. It’s also filterable by date range for precise analysis. Whether you need to track how well a special discount campaign does on Instagram or how many sales you get from your newest affiliate, the revenue by coupon report will allow you to easily track your campaign’s success.
Improved Cart Experience
To prevent users from being confused or surprised by the Shipping and Tax costs, the shipping and tax line sections are now blank and display as Estimated until the user inputs their shipping address. The cart page now shows the tax and shipping costs as Estimated until the city/zip are entered. Previously it was very misleading and led to a lot of end-customer complaints… but not anymore! Once the shipping address has been entered, the cart will display the real cost of these line items and will no longer say Estimated.
We also updated the state selector to avoid users from selecting Alabama in error. It now displays SELECT A STATE/PROVINCE instead of defaulting on Alabama.
The (ghost-like) white space after zip codes and credit card numbers is now stripped. Previously, customers were faced with an Invalid zip code error when checking out because they accidentally added a space after a zip code. This will help prevent declines that were caused by this issue.
New Marketplace Listing Pages – Phase I:
We are improving the listing pages on the Marketplace based on user feedback and surveys. These enhancements make the experience much smoother and will ultimately lead to improved conversion rates, which means getting you more subscribers! Check it out in action here.
More notable highlights
Improved usability for customer phone numbers:
- If you collect phone numbers at checkout, you can now find that information on the Customer and Subscription exports.
- Previously, there was no way to edit the customer’s phone number in the shipping settings, as the phone number field was not present in the address form under shipping settings and could not be viewed or edited after registration. You can now edit a customer’s phone number from the customer details page.
Better & new email notifications:
- New rule setting: You can now set a rule that allows for more than just the main admin to get the change renewal notifications (under Account > Users). Previously, only the primary admin was sent this notification.
- New notification: For those using the referral program, you will now get a notification when someone reaches their referral goal. You can toggle this from on to off under your notification settings.
- The resend a notification to a customer tool is now ordered with the most recent first. This will help you resend emails to customers much faster.
New page filter: The Subscription page is now filterable by Term, allowing you easier access to analyze your data.
Search help docs easier than ever from within the portal. Located in the upper righthand corner is a new button that says Help; click on that to search through the help doc library.
We’ve ramped up our marketing efforts to get you even more subscribers at no additional cost to you!
- Both the Mother’s Day and Memorial Day sales were very successful, increasing signups by over 50% across the board and we are actively monitoring churn rates to improve subscriber retention.
- Facebook advertising spend has increased 10X.
- Started influencer marketing.
- Onboarded additional affiliates in niche categories.
And here’s what’s coming up!
- We are working on a tool that allows you to manually remove a customer’s credit card information. This will help you offer peace of mind to those end-customers who need it more quickly.
- A new feature for gathering product feedback will allow you to survey your customers automatically after each shipment. This feature will also include reports that display the survey results, helping you make improvements based on feedback in real time.
- Further improvements to the Marketplace listing pages
- Ongoing bug fixes and performance improvements.
